Το λογισμικό Cabri - geometry II είναι προϊόν του IMAG (Ινστιτούτο για την Πληροφορική και τα Εφαρμοσμένα Μαθηματικά) του Πανεπιστημίου Joseph Fourier της Γκρενόμπλ, και του CNRS (Εθνικό Κέντρο Επιστημονικής Έρευνας της Γαλλίας). Η σύλληψη και η ανάπτυξη του λογισμικού έγινε από τους Jean-Marie Laborde και Franck Bellemain, οι οποίοι υποστηρίχθηκαν από επιστημονική ομάδα μαθηματικών, καθηγητών και επιστημόνων της πληροφορικής.Η συνολική προσπάθεια υποστηρίχτηκε από το Γραφείο Νέων Τεχνολογιών για την Εκπαίδευση του υπουργείου Παιδείας της Γαλλίας, στο Παρίσι.

Cabri – geometry II software is adapted in the Greek language and initially distributed for use in the Greek secondary and high schools which take part in Odysseia – Greek schools in Information Society, the national program for pedagogical enrollment of Information and Communication technologies in the educational system and which is a result of a long-term planning and realization (1996-2001).
